On October 17, the official Architecture of Diplomacy awarding ceremony was held at the Zinaida Morozova mansion, the Reception House of the MFA of Russia. The contest was organized by GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia and supported by the Union of Russian Artists, the Union of Architects of Russia, the All-Russian Center for the Development of Artistic Creativity and Humanitarian Technologies, and the Union of Restoration Architects of Russia.

Jury members and diploma winners, who are young artists aged 18 to 35 from different Russian cities and regions, took part in the event.

Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, gave an opening speech. “This event is especially symbolic now, when the cancel culture is gaining momentum around the world. There are points that simply cannot be cancelled, because otherwise humanity will cancel a part of itself – history, traditions, art. This competition made it possible to discover new names of talented artists and support Russian culture with creative energy in difficult times,” she said.

Vyacheslav Fatin, Acting Head of GlavUpDK, emphasized that the organization both comprehensively ensures comfortable work and life for foreign diplomatic corps in Moscow and seeks to show diplomats how diverse and rich Russian culture is. The contest, which invited young artists to study unique Moscow mansions, naturally supported the efforts of GlavUpDK in this area. “I hope that the initiative to hold the contest, which we plan to make an annual event, will contribute to the fulfilment of the creative potential of young and aspiring artists and discovery of new famous names of the national culture!” he said. Vyacheslav Fatin awarded the winners: Daria Antipova, Olga Burmistrova, Aleksandra Gumen, Ksenia Mokrova, Norik Musoyan, Anastasia Fedulova.
