The Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps (GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia) has summed up the results of the Architecture of Diplomacy All-Russian Creativity Competition.

The competition was supported by the Union of Artists of Russia, the Union of Architects of Russia, the Russian Center for Artistic Creation Development and Humanities, and the Union of Restorers of Russia.

The competition jury included Director of the Russian Center for Artistic Creation Development and Humanities Oksana Goncharova, Editor-in-Chief of the Moskovskij Komsomolets Pavel Gusev, Director of the Information and Press Department of the MFA of Russia Maria Zakharova, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Russia Andrey Kovalchuk, Chief Architect of the Central Scientific Restoration Project Workshops Sergey Kulikov, Deputy Head of the Painting and Restoration Department of the Stieglitz Academy Mikhail Rogozny, Acting Head of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia Vyacheslav Fatin, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, Director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art Zurab Tsereteli, Rector of the Moscow Institute of Architecture Dmitry Shvidkovsky, President of the Union of Architects of Russia Nikolai Shumakov.

The works were presented by young artists from 18 to 35 years old — both professionals and amateurs, students of secondary vocational and higher educational institutions, students of colleges and schools, and students of creative courses.

In total, GlavUpDK received 60 works made in different techniques: from watercolor to line art. The unique Moscow mansions under the jurisdiction of GlavUpDK, recognized masterpieces of world architecture, were the constant subject of creative explorations endeavored by artists.

The range of works prepared specifically for the competition was diversified. Many works reflect the epochs in which the mansions were built and are dedicated to historic events, creators and owners of buildings. A number of authors have constructed new forms of vision, presenting famous mansions in a variety of creative environments. Still, each work presents an original author's view of the environment, urban space and architecture.

The authors selected by the jury members as the winners are as follows: Ekaterina Ananyeva ("Mansion of Ivan Mindovsky"), Daria Antipova ("Fairytale House of Pertsova"), Olga Burmistrova ("Barefoot School"), Anastasia Gnezdilova ("Pertsovaya Night"), Aleksandra Gumen (“Derozhinskaya Mansion and Its Owner”), Ksenia Mokrova (“Igumnov House”, “Mansion of Kekusheva”), Norik Musoyan (“Igumnov House”, “House of Berg”, “Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia”, “Residence of the Ambassador of Switzerland”), Nadezhda Pavlova (“Igumnov House”), Maria Parinskaya (“House of Pertsova”), Anastasia Fedulova (“House of Receptions of the MIA of the Russia”), Valeria Shein (“Clear Day”). In addition, a special award of the Information and Press Department of the MFA of Russia was given to the following works: Anastasia Gnezdilova ("Pertsovaya Night"), Nadezhda Pavlova ("Igumnov House"), Anna Shelukhina ("Fairy Tale House"), Daria Antipova ("Fairytale House of Pertsova").

The competition was held to fulfill the creative potential of young and novice artists. In this regard, GlavUpDK uses the works of prize winners in a number of its projects, including corporate calendars for 2023. The section on the GlavUpDK website created to support this project will become a platform for drawing the attention of the general public to the historical and cultural aspects of the diplomatic service and will introduce young Russian artists.

The award ceremony will take place in the Z.G. Morozova Mansion. Participants who did not win prizes will be awarded with GlavUpDK certificates.

GlavUpDK expresses gratitude to the participants and members of the jury for participating in the Architecture of Diplomacy competition.
