GlavUpDK Announces the 4th Architecture of Diplomacy

The Architecture of Diplomacy open creative competition will start on February 10 – the Diplomatic Workers' Day – the professional day of Russian diplomats.

This year it will be held in the international format for the first time; young artists of 12 to 35 years of age from around the world, including professional artists and amateurs, students of universities, colleges, creative courses and schools, are invited to participate.

This year the competition will run under the Diplomacy Through Centuries theme for participants to present their own vision of the diplomatic service, foreign policy departments, achievements and success cases of diplomats in various countries.

This year we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, so participants are encouraged to make creative use of the following:

– events of the Great Patriotic War and the role of diplomacy in the post-war Europe and the world;

– historical facts and figures;

– art and other symbols associated with diplomacy and foreign policy;

– events related to diplomacy, diplomats and foreign policy mentioned in literature, including belles-lettres;

– the façades and interiors of the buildings occupied by diplomatic missions in Moscow, Russia. To find inspiration, you are invited to visit the Cultural Heritage Sites, a website run by the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia;

– the façades and interiors of the buildings occupied by Russian embassies abroad; or

– other competition-related themes you might choose to use.

 

The competition will run in two categories, namely: Little Artists (12 to 18 years old) and Young Artists (18 to 35 years old). The jury board will select 5 best projects in the Little Artists category and 15 top projects in the Young Artists category. The winners will be awarded monetary rewards and commemorative gifts from GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia.

Timeline:

·       The jury membership will be announced by February 10.

·       Projects will be accepted from February 10 until May 12.

·       The winners will be announced in June.

·       The awards ceremony is to be held in August-September.

Venue: Moscow, Russia The winners will be notified of the requirements for the awards ceremony and other related events held by GlavUpDK. They may partake in the awards ceremony online.

How to take part in the competition:

·       Write your project description and scan it with the scan resolution of at least 300 DPI.

·       Fill in the Consent to Personal Data Processing form attached below.

Note: The winners are required to sign the Agreement on Alienation of Exclusive Rights and Certificate of Acceptance forms.

·       Applications and projects can be submitted through the form on the website; the related link will be activated on this webpage on February 10.

·       We will contact you as soon as the jury board announces the results.

·       All participants will receive letters of commendation from GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia.
